A home is not merely a physical dwelling; it is an extension of one's spiritual world. Like an exquisite vessel, it holds the passing of the seasons, the gentle chatter of family, and the texture of daily life. Within the scale of a grand residence, the focus of design lies not in ostentation, but in how to use restrained techniques and warm materials to restore a sense of composure and tranquillity for busy urban executive families.

This project uses straight-grained oak and Nice walnut as the spatial backdrop, incorporating vibrant olive green accents. Through the reimagining of storage solutions and the skilful blending of materials, it showcases a sophisticated aesthetic of living that harmonises with the natural textures of the surroundings.

The ingenious use of stainless steel has created a healthy, eco-friendly and enduring home for this executive family. Here, home is a place of relaxation after a long day, as well as a haven of orderly elegance.

Entrance Hall: Woodgrain as a Guide, Stepping into Nature the Moment You Return Home

As you step through the door, the hustle and bustle of the outside world is gently soothed by the warm, smooth grain of straight-grained oak.

The extensive use of wood panelling not only establishes a sense of calm and stability, but also conceals a clever storage solution—tucking away the clutter of daily life out of sight. A splash of olive green adds a touch of colour, as if bringing the fresh, invigorating air of the forest outside right into the room.

Behind this tranquillity lies the enduring stability of the stainless steel itself—come what may, the door panels remain as pristine as ever.

Kitchen Space: A Harmony of Culinary Vibes and Wooden Textures

The kitchen features an efficient L-shaped layout that perfectly complements the workflow of cooking.

Carrying forward the straight-grained oak elements from the communal spaces, the warm, natural texture of the wood envelops the everyday warmth of home life. When sunlight filters through the sheer curtains and falls upon the wood grain, cooking ceases to be a mere chore and becomes an act of creation centred on love and sharing. The unique, organic quality of the wood grain lends this space—often filled with cooking fumes—a gentle, living quality.

Living Room: The Grandeur of a Grand Residence, with a Flexible Sense of Order

The living room design adheres to the philosophy of ‘a harmonious balance between display and concealment’. One side of the TV unit features open display shelves for showcasing artworks and books, reflecting the homeowner's experiences and taste; the other side comprises a full-height, closed storage unit, with the continuous grain of the straight-grained oak extending the visual depth of the space. This layout, with open display on one side and closed storage on the other, satisfies the desire to showcase while maintaining visual purity.

The interplay of expansive white spaces and warm wood tones creates a sense of openness without feeling empty; when the family gathers, they feel a sense of security enveloped by the wood, whilst when alone, one can enjoy the tranquillity of shifting light and shadow.

The Tea Room: The Chinese Aesthetic of a Cup of Fine Tea

The tea room serves as a sanctuary for the master of the house. Here, the design language becomes increasingly understated. The cabinetry features exquisitely crafted curved handles, which soften the sharpness of the edges and imbue the space with the harmonious, all-encompassing philosophy of Chinese culture. When the grain of the oak meets the lingering aroma of tea, time seems to slow down. Whether for business discussions or solitary tea-drinking, this intimate sanctuary allows one to savour life's subtle aftertaste amidst a sense of composed ritual.

Dining Area: Nice Walnut, Capturing the Warmth of Togetherness

The focal point of the dining area lies in the use of Nice walnut. Its deep, elegant grain and rich hue lend the space a sense of refined stability.

The round table is not only a place where the laughter and joy of three daily meals are shared, but also embodies the hope for harmonious family gatherings. The distinctive texture of walnut wood, bathed in soft light, takes on a silky sheen, ensuring that every interaction between family members is steeped in warmth and the richness of time.

Fitness Area: A Dedicated Space for a Disciplined Lifestyle

With the homeowner's commitment to quality of life in mind, a separate fitness area has been specially designed.

This bespoke gym cabinet features a clever storage system, allowing you to organise all your fitness equipment and sports gear with ease. Here, storage is not merely a practical necessity, but a tribute to a disciplined lifestyle. Every time you work up a sweat, you are taking a step towards a better version of yourself.

Master Suite: A Private Retreat of Luxury, Offering the Ultimate in Order and Thoughtfulness

The master bedroom is a harmonious blend of functional design and aesthetic appeal. To accommodate the different daily routines of the couple, the dressing area features strictly segregated zones for him and her, adhering to the storage principle of ‘hang more, fold less’, ensuring that selecting an outfit is always a relaxed and elegant experience.

The freestanding dressing table serves as a refined sanctuary exclusively for the lady of the house, whilst, bearing in mind the work requirements of the gentleman of the house as a senior executive, the suite features a tranquil study where the mind can roam freely and work efficiently in a space of solitude.

The girl's bedroom is dominated by warm tones, with soft colours intertwining with wood grain to create a fairy-tale dreamscape that exudes a sense of security.

Rather than relying on an overabundance of ornate decoration, this project draws upon the natural warmth of straight-grained oak, the gravitas of Nice walnut, the vitality of olive green, and the crisp clean lines of stainless steel to compose a harmonious symphony of warmth for this grand residence. Here, every inch of wood grain tells a story of time, and every storage solution reflects a deep respect for daily life. This is the ideal home where one can find peace of mind and where family memories are cherished.
